When I launch the game with Epic Games/Endfield Launcher then I get an 4004 Error when I try to click on an item in the shop to buy it. However when I launch the game directly over the game .exe then it works. Is this normal?

I also have a seperate issue with my game audio, since the 1.2 Update the voices in the Main Mission seem to be very quiet and sound very far away, sometimes not being hearable at all. The voices of other quests and character sounds, etc are normal, it seems to only affect the new 1.2 voiced quests and only applies to character/npc voices, for example the Emergency Broadcast at the start of 1.2 sounds completely normal but the character voices sound very far away. The replayable voice lines in the conversation Log seem to also have this problem.
I validated my game files in the launcher but it didnt fix it.

For the first issue, it's a problem with Epic's payment integration. You can use the topup website if you want to purchase in-game stuff

Game defaults to the internal browser when not launched from Epic, that's why it works

And for the second issue, you probably have directional audio turned on in-game but not properly configured in windows. Turn it off in the game settings

So, if 30xx/40xx user and keep very stable version as 566.36, you need to remove this entry in the boot.config.

heads up to anyone that has steam on flatpak and uses an nvidia gpu, make sure you don't let your flatpak nvidia driver version get out of sync with your system one, because if they are, then vulkan falls back to llvm and then everything just silently exits, at least based on the proton logs from steam. I didn't realize this before, so I moved my steam and everything to the native one instead of flatpak, and that solved all problems. this mismatch problem might only be an issue on cachyos but I figured I'd let yall know in case someone shows up after updating flatpak stuff and the launcher isn't starting anymore.

Vulkan is universal, speaking more or less directly to the GPU

While for DirectX you can blame Microsoft if there's bad performance
For Vulkan it's entirely on the dev

You can stay with Steam if you already got the game running
Though I personally don't like having Steam as a dependency for non-Steam games, so I use Faugus

Plus with Faugus you can easily move the game files/prefix around, not bound to Steam's paths in ~ (home)

Well vulkan actually uses your cpu fully for maximum performance so ofc temperature going to rise

If you are overheating then you need to repaste your cpu or undervolt it

Yeah typically the temps never get crazy and stay within hardware specs, only happened after an update soon after game launch.. anyway if I remember correctly there were a lot of people reporting it but can't find the thread anymore, so I figured it got adressed in future patches

i have no problems with it running at like 70fps what i dont like is sometimes it dips to like 30s for some random reason, i dont even have issues when im on aic cuz im getting over 80 fps on there on average. im like walking or something then shit drops to 30

Vulkan is more efficient in general but dx 11 does not strain all your cores so it's more like only 4 cpu cores get used

My friend also have this issue, with vulkan his CPU usage is high and his gpu usage stays around 20-30%, But with dx11 constant 120fps and normal usage. Specs are 5700X and RTX 3080
