And jobs just lists whatever you have in background

Keep in mind whatever's in background (with & or Ctrl+Z) is a child process of your session. If you need to keep it running in background even when you kill your session (disconnect from the server), you need to disown the process first. After that, you lose the stdout/err , and need to signal the program with kill -SIG.. to interact with it (if it even interprets other kill signals than sigterm)

So, i think i figured it out, reinstalling completely fixed the issue, however i think it matters where the launcher is installed as that decided what drive to use to extract files. so essentially i would have needed 120ish gbs free on my windows drive as that is where my launcher was located while game was in my game harddrive. when i reinstalled i put the whole shatangtang on my game drive. which makes me assume that it takes priority on the drive its installed if that makes sense
