Yes, turns out you need to pay attention to the account ID. For some reason even though I use only one email address for both the game and prep order accounts, the account IDs of both are different.
What I did is make sure I sign out the game and login using the login method I used for final prep account, then double check if account ID matches. I am now doing the tutorial all over again, kinda a waste of time but I am pretty sure it should be working fine after I complete the tutorial.

lemme tell u something, when u change the audio output device from here, the default communication device does not change accordingly. that's why that dude got the issue. The application i gave him is an automatic service to update default comm device to the current audio output device. Does that make sense to you?

yes your email is already an account on website. Now look like you login with your google or soemthing (even when google has the same gmail) it is still counted as different accounts. You need to delete one of them and wait 14 days then link them together

How to play Arknights: Endfield on Linux!

This guide is primarily targeted at running the game on Steam as a non-Steam game. The game has reportedly also worked on the Faugus and Heroic launchers if Steam gives you any issues.

You will need to install a tool called ProtonPlus (It is available as a flatpak in Flathub! For Steam Deck users, this can be found in Discover in Desktop Mode)

Open ProtonPlus, and scroll down to DW-Proton, install the latest version (or at least 10.0-15). If Steam is running when you do this, close and reopen Steam after.

Next, you will add the game to Steam as a non-Steam game. (Guide on how to do this below). You will need to set dwproton as the compatibility tool in the game properties. That is it! The game should work as intended with minimal issues!

How to setup the game as a non-Steam game

Download the PC installer for Arknights: Endfield from the official website (https://endfield.gryphline.com)

In steam, navigate to your library and click add game in the bottom left corner of the window. Choose the installer file.

Next, open the properties for the game and click 'compatibility' and choose dwproton. Go ahead and click play, and go through the installer. (It is recommended to allow the game install to the default path) Once the installation is complete, click stop in steam to close the launcher process completely.

Now open the game properties once more, and set the TARGET box to the path of the launcher exe
(This will often be in a folder under ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/[Some 10 digit number]/pfx/drive_c/Program Files/GRYPHLINK/Launcher.exe). Make sure to put quotes around the file path, or Steam will not open the game

Next, the START IN line should just lead to the folder the Launcher.exe folder is in. Same as above, put quotes around the path

That is it! You can choose to rename the listing and icon for the game in your Steam library if you wish! Enjoy the game, Endministrator~!

Known issues:

Random freezing and crashing: This is likely caused by fsync. Enabling ntsync (or disabling fsync on older kernels) will usually fix this.

If you have kernel 6.14 or newer: You can enable ntsync by running echo ntsync | sudo tee /etc/modules-load.d/ntsync.conf, then rebooting your system. To verify ntsync is working, open endfield and run lsof /dev/ntsync, you should see wine and the game listed.

If you have a kernel older than 6.14: You will need to add WINEFSYNC=0 %command% to your game's launch options. This will turn off fsync and may hurt performance, but this should fix the crashing.

In extremely rare cases most people don't experience, the game may kick you with an "illegal softwares" anticheat popup followed by the game closing. This is due to a very very slight time synchronization issue with NTP. There is a chance you are on an older version of DWProton, version 10.0-15+ addresses this and will likely fix this issue for you. If the issue persists, feel free to tag me.

The launcher does not open for some people: If this occurs, add this to your launch options QTWEBENGINE_CHROMIUM_FLAGS="--disable-direct-composition --single-process" %command%

The mouse may escape the game window if you have multiple monitors: You can fix this by adding PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 %command% to your launch options.

The details button in the banner screen, or other ingame browser windows, can cause the game to freeze: this is an issue with running the game in winewayland (if you have PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 %command% set in your launch options.) There is no real solution to this besides disabling winewayland.

No DLSS Option on some Nvidia cards: in your launch options, you need to add DXVK_CONFIG="dxgi.customDeviceId = 2504; dxgi.customVendorId = 10de; dxgi.customDeviceDesc = 'NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060';" %command% , if this doesnt work, also add dxgi.customDeviceMemory = 12288; to this.
