You get all the stats you need or the recommened stuff on an image or something and it's pretty straightforward like.

X Character needs a Reliquic set called "Noblesse Oblige" with crit rate and crit dmg being the recommended, ER/ATK for some pieces etc.

They generally drop from Energy Alluviums in the Operator Manual, though purple essences can rarely drop from overworld mobs. You can also check the recommended 3/3 essences and the drop locations, by selecting the buttons in the Energy Alluvium tab of the Operator Manual, and afterwards filter for the optimal stats at the essence drop location.
