#Cannot start a debug server on the device
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Stikdebug is only for 17.4 or higher
Im not using Stikdebug
Its JIT directly on Sidestore
It was working but it stopped
aaaand OF COURSE SOMEONE HAS THE EXACT SAME ISSUE AS ME ON MY EXACT SAME DEVICE

no i haven't found a solution yet i was looking here for a solution
Was it working until it just stopped working?
Yeah, i managed to turn jit on like 4 times until all i saw was this message
I installed Sidestore recently also
are you gonna say anything else??
checking the minimuxer logs just says
Failed to start debug server:UnknownError
Idk how to activate jit on that iOS version
oh
cc <@&949207621074829383> sorry for the ping btw if i'm being annoying
(i've had tons of annoying people come to me for support on shit i've made
but idk if theres some sort of obvious solution literally staring me in the face i can't tell)
You can only use sidestore’s jit for 16 and down in SideStore 0.6.1, sorry! SideStore has been updated in 0.6.2 to use the same method as StikDebug (only works on 17.4+)
random question why can't an if statement be implemented to check which ios version you're on to see what version to use
There are plenty of methods for 17 down tho, let me find you a link
if its possible i can make a PR
lol because we forgot to do that. I think it’s totally possible, we js mostly cater to later versions and we’re excited to hit
well then i suppose i should get to work finding how to do that 😭
In the mean time I can find you a link for earlier ones
this isn't gonna use another app id is it
https://github.com/SideStore/SideStore/issues/1024 just opened an issue for it
https://github.com/C4ndyF1sh/iOS-JIT-Enablers
ignore SideStore in the list, this should help you find a solution in the meantime
The rest needs either a second device or a pc to run :(
somebody asking for support having mutual friends that's crazy
sure go ahead...
version checking on iOS is kinda iffy in my experience tho
also now that I think about it, I think we should have one
no clue
it'd be extremely helpful to just have a toggle that uses the old method in sidestore's settings
ofc i have no experience in ios app dev so
Wait a minute…
So I have to downgrade Sidestore and I’ll be fine?
Yeah
Ok, got it
However soon enough you can upgrade again
But damn, I know JIT on iOS 17/18 is exciting and all, but a bunch of devices have 16 as the last version, try to acknowledge them at least
cc @shell fog sorry for the ping btw but since you made a lot of cool stuff like stossycord and actually know how to make ios apps and all that could you add a toggle to sidestore settings that makes "enable jit" use the pre ios 17 JIT method :3
I second this 🫡
i'm surprised you know that stossycord exists and also iOS 16 JIT should still be supported
i read over the code and iOS 16 support is still there, it checks if you're on iOS 17 or newer
It might not work properly then
At least on 16.7.11 on iPhone 8
