#Switching from Altstore to Sidestore

So, given that jitstreamer is down and refreshing apps via pc is annoying, I'm thinking of switching to sidestore. I do have a few questions, however. In general, I don't want to have to create and use a new Apple ID unless I absolutely have to, and given how entrenched I was in altstore, I'm wondering how seamless the transition would be

  1. I have already used my Apple ID with altstore and used my 10 app ids. I also got this error when attempting to log in to sidestore:
    "Failed to Log In This device is already associated with other accounts in the Apple Developer Program or the Apple Developer Enterprise Program. Please use a different device. (-38607)"
    If I delete/ log off of altstore, will this allow me to use that ID with sidestore?

  2. I have already used my 10 app IDs in altstore. Will it be fine to install in sidestore if I just install the same apps , or do I have to wait the 7 days to reinstall?

  3. Does cloud data carry on over from altstore, or do I have to manually drag and drop my data?

Sorry your having issues with jitstreamer we literally can’t do anything until vultr service is done doing whatever they are doing to servers.

  1. The error is usually associated like this because you might have a paid developer account attached to the device from another account but this isn’t always the case. Try removing any fake macs from your devices list for your account or nah that you don’t use. I found out that if many accounts are attached to one fake Mac it can also trigger this so it might be good to use ipa from #announcements on a fresh install and use the specified anisette it lists as this has a anisette that prevents account locking which pretty much apples way of forcing you to reset password and not a block. Some people also got that error -38607 when using things like signulose and signum with their paid developer system doing udid registration.

  2. Since on question 1 you said that you installed I’m assuming you have the sidestore appid’s which should be fine but if you don’t have any sidestore appid’s then you will have to wait no exceptions as this is apples system on their servers not on the idevice our the apps.

  3. altstore doesn’t use harmony like delta. To transfer apps you need to keep the app active in Home Screen and sideload the active app on sidestore. import backup currently doesn’t work on sidestore so you might have to at the moment reinstall some apps.

  1. So for whatever reason it allowed me to login this time which is good. So to clarify, I just need to put "http://ani.sidestore.io:6969/"as my anisette and that's it? No need to create my own custom anisette server?

  2. App IDs are Avilable, so all good there (for now) 👍. However, I'm presuming that there is still a 3 app limit with a free developer account. Altstore however allowed me to use this, which removes the three app limit

  3. I'm not sure I understand what you mean. When I say transfer I mean it like: say I am running DolphiniOS on altstore, but I want to transfer that app and it's ISOs/save data to sidestore. How would I do that, given your instructions of "keep the app active in Home Screen and side load the active app on sidestore"?
    Or are you simply stating to reinstall via sidestore?

  2. Yeah that’s a limit. Mdc doesn’t work on on our normal apps. We have a mdc build that includes exploit to do what you mention but isn’t finished and also it’s broken atm as we have a seperate dev working on that on their free time.

  3. Sounds like you got what I said. To do it you have the app on the Home Screen being active and all and you sideload the ipa of the app and since your account has that app ass appid and it’s already installed it will refresh using sidestore and add it to our my apps list. When you have it installed it acts like a refresh. Data is kept during that, for dolphinios I would copy the gc and Wii folders and just store it somewhere as a backup as that is what I do.

1 And 2 are more or less solved, ty

  1. So I attempted to sideload two apps, Citra and DolphiniOS (reborn/ 4.0.05b).
    -Citra worked, at least at first, but after attempting to delete it in altstore it stopped working
    -Dios never worked
    Both give the error:
    "The operation couldn’t be completed. AFC was unable to manage files on the device"
    I have tried deleting and creating a new pairing file but it shows this same message

Sidestore also constantly seems to become no longer available for some reason?
Idk altstore and sidestore don't seem to want to play nice with each other bc interacting with one of them seems to mess with the other

Given mdc doesn't work, app data is saved when swapping out and sideloading other apps, correct? I know altstore does this, but I don't want to take that for granted

Let's say I have DiOS and RetroArch sideloaded, and I want to then sideload Citra, but I need to deactivate one of the two apps mentioned to make space. I choose to deactivate DiOS, which has resident evil 4 and Mario kart wii loaded with save data. When I want to restore DiOS, it will have Mario kart and re4 with its save data intact, correct?

It would just keep the app data not restore.
