it's hard because there's nothing you can make in a frying pan that you can't make in a cook pot.
anything that requires the cook pot could easily also require the pan or require it instead.

Personally i just don't much care for the frying pan idea. we didn't start getting them at all until a bit later in the game, and we were somewhat beyond bacon and eggs at the time but we also really struggled to get the grill and didn't have one until we could make better things than grilled meat. in trying to think about implements that would actually be beneficial in campfire cooking, i'd rather see a pressure cooker that speeds up cooking times on some of the late game foods which could just be an upgraded T2 cookpot maybe of bronze or iron tier, or some kind of oven for baking bread.

You would be surprised, but ... The basic Cooking Pot and Cooking Grill are both made out of Iron ingots.

sure, but then there's still no good reason to have a frying pan
there are certain guaranteed in world cooking pot spawns, that's why it's relatively easy to get them, that's not the same for frying pans.

i could see making the frying pan really easy to find early game and it's only good for food not for water, but then you have to push pot spawns to later for that to matter.

there's a couple houses that it's more or less guaranteed but i forget the names
if you could make a scrap frying pan out of garbage and use it to fry eggs from day one, and fry meat that's somewhere between charred and grilled meat in benefit then maybe there's a spot for it
now if we wanted to replace the frying pan with a wok...
we'd need a rice crop
