I am unable to craft primitive mortar with the wooden bucket.

Same. I tried filling the bucket from a pond and from a sink. I tried emptying the bucket into a blue tank and pulling it back out. Can't make primitive or regular mortar. Keeps telling me that I don't have a full wooden bucket.

ah right. You are coming from vanilla... Try just a 2-3 layer thick field of spikes around your base border. Spikes are a lot better in AL. And repairable (Upgrade repairs them to the previous undamaged spikes)

It seems that the problem is with the bucket of water, the game doesn't see it somehow. The problem can be solved by substituting water bottles for the bucket in the recipe

yeah the bucket isnt transitioning to the full variant for the recipe when you fill it
buckets are actually 3 items representing the empty, middle, and full states
to simplify being able to require a full bucket in recipes

I was able to create the primitive mortar in my 0.2.9 game using a wooden bucket. Didn't unlock the other buckets yet.

if you are having the issue it's probably with an existing bucket from pre-patch that is still in the weird state, so empty it and refill it and it should be ok
