Shotgun skill 32, should craft lever action shotgun at ~2k quality, crafts at 1 quality. Also can't be scrapped after it dies, so you lose all the materials.

Testing this and I get ~1.5-2k quality. Once crafted it had ok quality.
Do you have any points in Meticulous perk?

Yes, 4 points in meticulous, still only got 1. Will have him try again tonight.

Last night I read enough books to get to scrap pick. UI showed quality will be around 3500, crafted one, it had quality 1. Then UI showed it would be around 1200. I read one more book, crafted pick and it was about as it should be, around 1300 quality. So perhaps it has to do with crafting immediately after getting the point that unlocks it?
