I had this issue shortly after factory resetting, i had to create a boundary and use it in SteamVR and let it get the data. What is your setup ?
Maybe even try wiping the cameras on the Quest with a microfiber, if you have it.
If using SteamVR, make sure the meta plugin compatibilty is set to automatic on the "OpenXR" section of settings ( the desktop settings, not in headset)

honestly idk what made mine work again, but it just works again. And I can disable physical boundaries in the dev settings again without any issues

If something happened on accident and it didn't give you an advantage (or you chose to negate that advantage) you should be fine. Anything else is exploit/bug abuse.

Example: you did a weird thing ingame and get behind a wall (outside of the level, that can happen). What you do next makes it either abuse or not.

1. You get out of the wall or give up the raid if you got stuck. Sucks but no harm done.

2. You give your teammates information you could only have by getting behind a wall. You shoot someone from behind the wall. Now you are abusing the accident and it becomes a bad choice. At this point it's not an accident anymore.
