its junk but its also not, the main problem is the latchs on the controller mounts as they tend to unscrew/untighten themselves over time, and the metal swival which has a hard time staying still. They have already addressed this as a defect and announced making new cups awhile back that uses magnets instead of latchs. Wait till they release the new cups before buying as atm the gunstock starts to become a burden with the current mounting cups.

it doesn't use magnets, that was one of the requirements to make it more affordable, the only downsight is it has a bit steeper learning curve to remember how to find both ends together. But the connection is much stronger too, and the release is also much much easier

it locks in place with the weight of the front part, if you push it upwards you can slide it out like nothing

DaKoda here from the Mamut focus group, we’re currently resolving the problems for anyone who ordered a tabor raidr and the new grips are indeed almost finished. Us at the focus group are awaiting a few more test pieces then after that it’s onto yall, go nuts with these pictures and spread them around. (We just got released from our NDA)

It’s a different design for the metal pole as well as new screws which allow a coin to be used to turn it. There is also no “hat” which means no more popping off for the strap.

most obvious is probably sniper rifles, youll just be slower with follow up shots

that said, you can still get around that hurdle by just getting comfortable shooting with one hand and bolting with your left, but other utility and dropping on people you still have to rely on freehand just because it's faster

To be fair this sounds like a beginner using pro tube. It relies on muscle memory to be comfortable. You get used to it within few hours and after a week it's a second nature. Hard to tell with how gunstock calibration works since I do t have showdown but small adjustments on the fly are not that difficult to achieve

It should not be an issue to loot anything in that case. Any gunstock has some sort of drawback compared to freehand but you gain stability and immersion in return. So yeah I don't really understand why this guy has a problem but the only explanation I can figure is just lack of experience with gunstocks overall. A lot of people draw quick conclusions without giving a product a proper shot and later buy into marketing of competitors. Just to be at the same spot with different gunstock.

No matter what gunstock you use there is always a bit of a learning curve since it will never align perfectly with the object you see.

Showdown has some problems that you dont really see using a gunstock in other games to be fair

the biggest being using the parachute, it requires both hands, so quick reaction shots using the parachute are more or less impossible unless you permanently keep one hand in the magtube

It's just awkward. Doable, but awkward. I made a habit of dropping parachute, linking one hand, then parachuting again with one hand already in the magtube, because that's the only way to land, pull weapon, mount stock, and fire quickly

I usually do, but my main strat right now is to land on a roof 50-100 meters away from a team because the stock will let me beat them with aim alone

i found the istock fits quite well for Contractors because its a one hand gunstock, you can loot and parachute quick while having just a slightly harder time hitting 250+ meter shots. And if you have a 3D printer you ccan just print it urself

Is it from the screw that holds the metal rod piece onto the grip mount? Or is the wobble due to the grips themselves? Asking as I’m also in this Mamut focus group and I found that replacing the screws for the grip mount with Hex Head M4 10mm solved the backout issue with the grip screws causing the mounts to wobble. If it’s the grip itself, as BRC stated and showed with pics, the new grips will solve the strap popping off issue.

It’s a temporary fix as we don’t know when these new parts will ship to everyone who purchased a Tabor Raidr stock. But the new parts will ship to everyone who purchased the stock either from CWS or Mamut directly.

Just saying to anyone who is debating getting a stock, if you have shaky hands or you struggle with lining up iron sights I highly recommend getting a stock. I got a magtube and its a little pricey but it was pretty easy to set up. I recommend pavlov for getting a feel for the stock and adjusting it to how you like it, and tabors gunstock options make it a breeze.

I'll be honest just as an observer of what folks who own it say - not good

they've fixed the grip design supposedly - they did break

but it's still a universal grip that uncomfortably straps around your controller to work

folks complained of it hurting a LOT

and the buttstock is so heavy that it throws off the balance

on my product? You'll need the right version if you're using the front grip

if you're just using the forearm brace they are technically cross-compatible

but your comfort might not be the best as the Q2 grip is optimized for how the strap goes arond the controller ring and the Q3 version is optimized for active straps or my strap ring adapter that it comes with

that being said, I think the Q3 grip version will provide the most comfort if you're switching back and forth

OR you can buy my new secret upgrade and it's fully cross-compatible between both headsets 😈

And buckshot is utterly useless so they could at least make the spread realistic

I've tried it and I didn't think it was good. I felt the magnets were weak and getting it lined up was more of a hassle than it was worth. Personally, I prefer where one controller is mounted to the stock and the other is free to do as I needed. Hence why I went with the Ultistock and use the front slap cup attachment.

I would put most of these bolts downward, where the like disk nuts stay where your controller is

So that your screwdriver will be able to reach stuff later, makes things adjustable on the fly

It's some like sorta line he put in the description towards the end, but I did that, and make the forearm brace's bolt have an adjustment disc with washer instead of a full pin

This will help you feel the perfect spot for it

I wonder how cheap the new upgrade will be, because if you have a full set already you pretty much would only have to get the new grip, and the sling

Doing that and buying a full set would cost around 80 nearly but it would be pretty nice

You'd have 2 to adjust, like one for a game that doesn't do inventory management
