I'd love to see it, I'm just so confused how that can work because the physical heights for your hands is so different from one gun to the next in that list. are you just gaining muscle memory to completely change your physical stock / hand elevation based on the gun? There's no way you can have the same pose with each of those guns and still point fire to the same place without a fully functioning physical stock calibration system

Yes, ill post in just a bit here. I dont even use in game calibration at all and have almost zero issues with any guns.

for me the only adjustment i have to make (magtube) is the front tube like a click up or down with certain weapons or attachments that's it

You just must be really good at remembering that muscle memory of where your hands need to be for each different gun, which kudos to you, but that's not a solution to the problem imo just being very good at adapting

lol I gotta see this. It's impossible from everything I've seen in the game. You can't possibly keep the same hand position using an m4+grip + opk7 as you do with an SKS iron sights

I will say i rarely use the base sks as its absolute trash but I can confirm i can go from ump to scar to m4 to tapco to alpha to mp5 to german weapon to awm, no issue

No problem, To put it in layman terms, i have my front hand right in the middle of where the angled grip and normal grip would be and can use either without any shifting in direction.

I’m using the Olen Spine. Works perfect in games like Contractors with thier calibration. I’m in a nightmare with the SPINE. Should I just say F it and not use it. The stock it’s just pointing straight up 45 degrees when gun in game is right. And can’t get front hand to grab.

Curious, why do you think the lack of height adjustment is an issue? I pre-ordered one of those stocks, but maybe I'm not seeing the bigger picture. The Raidr stock is also just a straight tube with no ability to alter the height, but the buttstock is a piece of wire with no height adjustment or a cheek rest and yet everyone seems to think it's going to be the greatest VR stock ever made.

I sincerely wish you the best of success with the release of the stock. I used a magnetic split stock before and it certainly helps with mobility and being able to accomplish tasks other than simply shooting a rifle. Perhaps the minimalistic design of the buttstock was influenced by the desire to maintain that mobility and free use of hands in VR.

hi everyone, i just got my protubeVR gunstock. Using a quest 3. I have disabled hand tracking on the quest 3 (as per protubeVR advice as the gun just flipped around everywhere (rare but a known issue)) so after calibrating best i can, when im in game the gun moves randomly by a couple of mm making it impossible to stay on target. anyone come across this? cheers

Isn't the furthest controller hidden being your closest controller when aiming? That would hinder the tracking and make small mm movements

do you mean hidden "behind" the closest (trigger) controller from the headset? I do have it pointed forward more which would indeed hide the pick up sensors in the front controller from the headset, if the pickup sensors are all on the top of the controllers. my advice is, aim as you normally do, then turn on passthrough to see if the front controller ir leds are hidden by your trigger controller

different guns have different shapes, both between different games and also in tabor between different weapons

in order to properly use the controller your hands will need to have different heights relative to each other, otherwise it will not be aiming where you want without changing the tilt of the entire stock

if you dont have a butt, or a cheek rest, you just change your stocks orientation. it feels less natural that way, and you lose multiple points of stability, but some poeple like that style

ADSing with 4 points of contact is incredibly natural, stable and easy to hold position that way for a long time

He is not wrong my magtube can adjust on the fly easily by how I have the pressure on each point to switch, the Allen keys that they give you help to set the pressure for each point so if you pick up a random gun you can adjust it and set it to where you’re comfortable when you aim

Plus the carbon is lighter and sling is super helpful

I share your feelings with most gunstock designs (they don't change anything, they provide a means to have better stabilization when handling virtual guns), but I'm not sure I feel so strongly about any of the designs to the extend of classifying any of them as useless.

Especially when I don't have actual hands-on experiences with them, those one-sided opinions ain't gonna be of any value to anyone

My product is different than the magnet stuff. The magnet tubes are a major challenge to learn and handle because you're searching for it blindfolded and fn sucks when you're trying to transition between handling your inventory to aim down sights. I can literally climb a ladder and ads in full stability the moment I let go faster than you can find your first magnet point. It's just more ergonomic.

Muscle memory is muscle memory is muscle memory though. Your design has a bigger area where you will be in the same approximate area with your hand easier, but much harder to find the exact same spot over and over again. Imo the magnets help with this. Any stock requires a good few hours to get used to. Regardless of brand/setup, no matter how intuitive we or any other maker think our specific design is.

Noticed you have the front brace angled quite a bit, so most of the time you're bracing against the crook of the elbow joint. Is this better than bracing closer to the wrist? Still trying to figure out which setup is better for my stock.

Very casual gamer here. Simple to print and used a wood dowel instead of PVC tubing for shaft. Provides stability and versatility without over-the top designs that include many parts. Basically cost me less than 5 bucks as I had the dowel already and printed this myself on and Ender 3 S1 Pro https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4971457 EDIT if you find it wiggles a bit too much when you shake the controller you can add thickness with layers of hockey tape around the circular part that attached to the controller. Worked like a charm for me

Deleted my save and set it up again. It seems like it's mainly the pistol angle that goes all crazy. It was a teensy bit off like in the video so I clicked it to -1 and it went waaaay farther than 1 notch, had to put it to 25 to get it back to the right spot. Now any time I pick up a gun that has a calibration on it, the pistol angle gets messed up and aims way down until I reload the game or enter/exit a raid

I got horrible unplayable stick drift on both controllers and I wanna get the quest 3 but im $100 short

and I also wanna play the game before wipe so I can at least use my stuff

Spray it inside your joystick and right when you spray it, move the stick around 3 times and let it dry for 1-2 minutes

It will temporarily fix drift

In my case, it fixes it for around 3 days before I have to add it again

Or just buy new controllers 🤷‍♂️

Let's say you calibrate it so that when you quickly aim down sights with the stock your favorite weapon with a sight is directly perfectly positioned. But, when you have to play another gun of the same class with ironsights, the ironsights wouldn't be aligned right? You'd have to aim a bit differently than the preferred, automatic position

Hmm the stock I made has a fixed cheek pad, it works on games like onward or pavlov where you can calibrate weapons individually then everything works great without having to adjust the cheek rest on the go depending on the weapon.
But with tabor's calibration I can only choose one gun I want to calibrate with sight, if I take something else with ironsights it will be too low and I'd have to calibrate in the settings again 😮‍💨

I love the cheek rest because I can lock my weapon perfectly and very quickly, but only the weapon + its attachements I calibrated with in the current gunstock calibration

correct, if you want a cheek pad to work well you need an adjustable stock

thats why the protube (the first commercial VR gunstock) was designed the way it was over 7 years ago

and why it still looks largely the same, helps when its designed right the first time

That’s actually ironic. PCVR works great on the index, but as soon as I try to play PCVR on my Quest 2… I get a dramatic shift in hand offset whenever I pick up a weapon (it points at the floor). I drop it and the offset returns to 0.
This makes it unplayable on Q2 PCVR for me.

Mamut WASP compared to ProTube, at least the two biggest differences imo
The Mamut is a bit more adjustable as the controller mounts can be rotated left and right then locked down.
The ProTube to more rigid and durable.
I really wanted the best of both worlds so I went with a Mamut and modded it.
