You can get close to:

• 2 scavs next to graveyard from the Cathedral side. Stay close to the wall. Run like hell once you see them. You can also do it from graveyard side if you spawn there, just run through the gate.
• 2 scavs next to bridge exfil. They have 2 possible spawn places, either way just stick close to the wall next to which they have spawned when approaching from bridge.
• 2 Scavs next to Musem at Musem exfil. Go from behind the musem, around the corner and stab stab
• Cathedral outside side doors scav, if he has spawned. He sees you very late. But he might alert the one inside if you take your sweet time.
• 2 can also spawn inside the cathedral tent, they are easy to take down then.

Don't take useless risks, you need to do several raids for that quest anyway, feel free to take your time and do it when you are comfortable with it.

I had 1080 for years, it's fairly different from 1070 honestly and I don't think I could decently run PCVR with GoT on the 1080, let alone 1070. Even if you make it run, it will run like complete ass. Can't recommend.
Note that standalone version is much better optimized for that hardware and that software, so you need beefier hardware on PCVR than what you can get away with on standalone.

Regarding render distance - if you are worried about enemy render distance, it's the same for all platforms, 300 meters, because all other platforms are held back by how outdated and trash quest 2 is in 2025.

I am personally against it, I don't think majority of playerbase will ever be able to or want to deal with harder scavs without option to have easier maps/modes. I could deal with the first day wipe scavs myself, not a real issue for myself, I just don't want to see the community die because of decisions like that.

Same with increasing difficulty with things like healing and gun maintenance (gun jamming) and such. Current playerbase is just not prepared for that and not what they came for.

Realised quickly I now have to take them down before they can even see me. No biggie as I have learned tactics before.

Watching the lobbies though was insane.
I spawned behind labs. Slowly approach labs because I know there are 2 scavs.
See 4 players run around. Pew pew pew all players dead, scav returns to his spot.
Ok, wild. Slowly take out scav, get inside labs, find purple, get to prison, loot vault. Go to docks. 0 shots anywhere, clearly everyone dead. Near docks I find a full ass t5 kit someone dropped and clearly died in a position a scav shot them.
