#Ente Auth App icon discussion

While I understand rebranding and aligning branding, I fully agree that this new app icon is not great.
In my opinion this is a security tool and its style should instill confidence that the security is taken seriously. As silly as it may be for a cosmetic item, the new app icon is more cutesy and feels more like an app icon targeted for a fun children’s app.
I do want to say the app is functionally fantastic otherwise. I just don’t really want to see that icon on my computer or phone.
To me it just looks like a tongue, not a shield.
I only recently installed ente auth. What did the old icon look like?
That one was so good.
I wonder if there’s scope to add an app icon switcher, like there is in ente photos? Would still help with the common branding across apps
That would be very welcomed and great to have on desktop and mobile versions alike.
Not possible on windows/linux afaik due to those platform constraints:( but doable on iOS and android
I think I saw something like that in the commits
Description

Would love Ducky icons for all apps. Should be the default imo, it's by far the best photos icon
I had AI make an attempt at these because I wanted to see what it'd be like (would probably be better to just have ducky holding the padlock/shield, but I don't have the assets obviously).
