How do i get myself off of the free plan? i'm unable to use any of the sharing features even though i've updated my subscription with the cli and made myself an admin.

Sharing features are only available to paid customers, which is a measure to prevent abuse of the platform. If you are on the free plan, you cannot share albums.

Family plans aren't supported yet, normal sharing should work

hm. in the web client I don't even have the buttons for sharing available to me.

marking this solved. normal sharing does work but I don't have the ability to create an album in the web app to share 😕 . I worked around it by favoriting a photo.
