Hey, could you confirm if these are videos? Also, any details about the platform would be helpful!
some of them are videos, but not much. I'd say around 350-400 photos and 40-50 videos
if by platform you mean os, it's safari on ios 17
My suggestion would be allow collaborators to upload straight to an album that they have access to rather than have to upload to their account
Got it, thanks for the details! iOS has in general been a pain to deal with, but we'll see what we can do.
And your suggestion makes sense, we'll have to figure out the UX so the flows are clear (so a collaborator knows whose account the photos are getting added to). Will add it to our bucket list
can collaborators upload straight to an album and it's just that the ui makes confusing or do they actually have to upload to their account first?
They can add to albums, but currently the items first get uploaded to their own accounts first
if they delete it off their account, does it get deleted from the album?
Yes, the items will get scheduled for deletion
Since in this case the items belong to their account
I thought about this for a minute, the sharer of the album, or the owner, should be able to decide whether items uploaded by collaborators should count towards their storage or not, just as an option in the share menu.
Right, the only nuance here is around communicating this information to the collaborator who might be adding photos that are already a part of their account
