Tips for lodging, use those websites that got free cancellation and check every day for the price to go up and down. The good thing about them sites when you book through them they always have a promotion and such, so when you already booked and you see the price go lower on another day just cancel and get the new one.

You can get a room in a decent hotel in any Tokyo location, just gotta find the ones that says free cancellation and pay when you get to the hotel.

If you go to the shrine in kamakura you can hike for 30 minutes and get an absolute bomb of a view

Yeah it was at Engaku-Ji temple, basically just follow the path up. At the shinto shrine you get a cool view, and then you can walk even higher to a viewing platform on the top of the mountain for an even better view
