ok can someone explain to me how stages work, I have watched old vids of iconic matches and shit but I never watched season 1 or 2 live can someone tell me what a stage title means vs a playoffs title?

I get so confused !

is it just how they split the season like stage 1 then top 8 big playoff tourney, then stage 2 and top eight big playoff and then stage 3 ending with stage 3 playoff which deternines standings for grand final?
