the idea behind playing ball is to eliminiate a target after you slam with the help of tracer who can go in and out pretty quick
panthera plays illari to have more sustain so illari and bap doesnt die when doom dives backline since illari has pylon which can heal her and her teammates and baptise has shift and immortality field to avoid deaths
ana brig is the same. brig has the job to protect ana when ball slams and tracer is looking for pulse or left click to finish the job
another reason for why they're running doom and ball is because of the mobility of these two heroes. ball and doom has a high mobility and it's good in a flashpoint because these maps are very large and it requires high movement heroes (you can also play sigma to have more defence after you cap)
