it is on this tank character named roadhog

it allows hog to put a target into the perfect position to follow up with his shotgun netting a near instant kill onto targets with 250 hp or below

this allows hog, within a 20something meter radius
to have one of, if not, the highest kill threats on a tank in the game, despite lacking mobility

however this is in a vacuum
in reality you will miss a hook, you will get stunned, the hook will get blocked, so on and so forth

and there is one person who excels at disabling this character and that is ana

I don't need to go into depth as to why she dumps on hog because it will make me angry due to this dev team

and then kiriko presses the funny E button and hog is usable again

but basically it's not farfetched to say that landing a hog hook on any target is an instant kill

if it isn't one due to an interruption of the combo

it is one due to the resulting team followup

this is why 2020 grands was played on a mickey mouse meta where he could basically one tap tanks

and why pulled pork existed for a while
the character nets you a pick without having to commit to a hard engage which will always be valuable in an fps

the problem is doing that without taking too much poke and flopping over

back to the point

tracer is a very good character against hog

she is hard to hit
and can farm sticky on him whilst also being able to chase him down
she doesn't worry about the threat of hook as much because burning one blink for a hook miss is a favorable trade

one thing that Winston reaper does exceptionally is abuse mobility cooldowns to constantly flank and steal space from each other

in hog tracer, tracer is still free to do that
but now the tank does not have to invest any resources into protecting the mobile flanker/pseudo frontliner

hog is now the frontline and although he takes a lot of damage, kiriko does a lot of healing and he does some himself

on maps with open sightlines tracer is just better than reaper because she's not nearly as predictable and can play around cover much faster

ult cycling is genuinely more wonky in this company since like

no reaper rush w

whole hog I'm assuming is just point contest and solos picking

the issue is that whole hog against a mirror comp is just an I will kill the hog button

he can easily weave around angles and if reaper contests him and doesn't dodge hook he burns resources simply by existing
