Eh, theres only 3 reasonable answers. There's the two I mentioned, and the third (which doesn't make sense timeline wise) is that the man is a step father to the son, but time-line wise, the son would be 16+ years old by the time Reyes becomes Reaper.
But it could easily be a mistake.

I was just watching back the Overwatch 2 story progression stuff and I came up with a sorta theory.
So we know that with Overwatch 2, there's a second omnic crisis happening but as Jeff stated, we don't know who's behind the cause of this. I am like 99% sure that it's that omnic dude that Doom talks to at the end of Storm Rising.
It just seems like there could be something going on, maybe Talon and Null Sector came to some arrangement.
Also, it seems like every story mission we will be "recruiting" new heroes to join the "main gang' for example, Rio De Janiro for Lució.

basic plot synopsis is that Reyes (as Reaper) goes on a mission with Sombra to retrieve a valuable asset (Sigma) from a safehouse - they murder all the guards on the way in, Sombra provokes Reaper into a rage, and Widowmaker shows up just in time to stop Reaper from murdering Sombra
through flashbacks and memories, we learn that Reyes was a cop before he joined the military (pre-Overwatch), and he had a wife named Martina and a son
we also learned that Reyes joined Talon because Doomfist convinced him that laws and rules only served to protect corrupt individuals and the only way he could effectively deal with that corruption was to work outside the law
people say it ruined his character because they had their own idea of what his character should be

From what I understand, B.O.B. is unable to talk or express emotion. He cannot talk, but where all the omnics created smart? Or is B.O.B. more like an advanced robot? He's not sentient.. Or are all omnics sentient? Even though some have less features, or were they made sentient by a freak crisis.. And why did B.O.B. leave Ashe to join the 'war', but later return? I'm kinda confused around this aspect of the Overwatch lore.

you should read the story, it's my favourite short story so far - but the basics is, humans created omnics without sentience, then at some point (unknown when, but I speculate it was during the crisis) an omnic named Aurora achieved sentience somehow, and she transcended, sacrificing herself to grant sentience to all omnics

And none of the crisis era omnics are capable of speech
Likewise, no omnics that are known to be pre-crisis were shown to be capable of it either
The next oldest omnic we know is Zenyatta, and his age is listed as 10 years after the crisis
Well, the next oldest is Bastion, but Bastion is a crisis era omnic
We also don't know how old Maximillien is either, or some of the other civillian omnics we've met in the present like Lynx and Izzy
There is a good chance that omnics were just never built with the capabilities of speech among the earlier generations
Voice modules are also something that can be purchased as well. Efi bought one for Orisa, who is a modified OR-15 omnic. So there is also the potential that Bob could be upgraded with one. We don't really know the details of Omnic modding though beyond Orisa
And Orisa is kind of a frankenstein case.

Over the life of Overwatch 2, we got Ayutthaya, Rialto, Petra, Busan, Paris, and Havana all in a row. Also Black Forest/Eichenwalde earlier, but this Eichenwalde is different than real world Eichenwalde.
