I said that ominics and robot in ow word are way different then in most media and that they have personality and that bastion saw the destruction his kind did and he changed like how humans can change

So, maps have Lore, like kings row is an EMP to destroy Omnics, and numbani is escorting the DoomFist to the museum, but what is Horizons lore? Is it something to do with collecting research? Saving the monkeys?

@topaz ledge Nothing. Most of the maps objectives are irrelevant.

Its just an excuse for gameplay.

They've been moving towards more and more meaningless objectives since launch for the payload maps too.

Like, Dorado had the repair truck, Route 66 had the looted weapon, and Gibraltar had the satellite at launch. Those were meaningful.

We also had the Hollywood director protection squad, the Doomfist gauntlet delivery, and the EMP on King's Row. Those were also meaningful.

Eichenwalde had the battering ram. Which was cool for breaking down the door, but reasonably there should be no one fighting.

Then we got Junkertown with the money and explosions. Which was probably the last meaningful payload.

Rialto, Havana, and Blizzardworld all have unimportant payloads for the maps. The same goes for the float on Rio. Based on the gameplay, there wasn't a fire that the fire engine was racing to in NYC, and the car entering the Casino likewise looked like it had no purpose. They were just showing off cool vehicles that they felt fit the locations for the Overwatch 2 payloads.

every time I hear about Harold Winston now I think about the winston sigma interaction and it makes me really happy

he was Gabriel Reyes, a soldier in the US Army who was recruited for the secret Soldier Enhancement Program. When the UN was putting together Overwatch, Gabriel was chosen to be the leader of the strike team known as Overwatch, but his friend and fellow Overwatch member Jack Morrison proved to be a better leader and was promoted to Strike Commander when the crisis ended. Gabriel was given command of Blackwatch, the black ops division of Overwatch, which led clandestine, illegal missions in secret for years until it was exposed during the Venice Incident - a failed kidnapping of a Talon leader. This exposure led to a rift between Reyes and Morrison, which culminated years later in a fight that triggered an explosion that destroyed the Overwatch HQ in Switzerland.

Reyes and Morrison were both believed dead, but they both survived and went underground - Morrison as the vigilante Soldier: 76 and Reyes as the mercenary called Reaper.

Reaper ends up joining Talon (we don't know how or why) and becomes one of their leaders, with a personal vendetta against Overwatch.

Ana - one of the founding members of Overwatch, one of the world's best snipers. Lost a sniper battle to Widowmaker, had amnesia briefly and now joins Soldier on his vendetta against Talon
Brigitte - Torbjorn's daughter and Reinhardt's goddaughter/squire. She travels around with him to fix his armor and patch his wounds.
Baptiste - former Talon medic, he left Talon after realizing they are a lot worse than he thought. Now he runs a clinic in Haiti and is still on the run from Talon. He's good friends with Sombra.
Lucio - he was a small time DJ in Brazil who led an uprising against Vishkar when they were oppressing his community in the name of order. His revolution gave him an international platform that expanded his fame.
Mercy - pioneer of nanobiotics and Overwatch's former head of medical research. She designed the Valkyrie suit so healers could work effectively on the battlefield. Since leaving Overwatch, she has worked in various aid camps around the world, including most recently, Cairo.
Moira - she was a geneticist who was disgraced after the scientific community couldn't replicate her findings, and her lack of ethics came to light. She was recruited by Gabriel Reyes to fix his genetic issues and ended up giving him wraith powers. After Blackwatch was exposed (due to her meddling), she was offered a position as the minster of genetics in Oasis. She is also a Talon leader, although we don't know exactly how long she has been associated with them (there are rumors that she has been working for Talon while she was with Blackwatch)
Zenyatta - a former Shambali monk. He disagreed with Mondatta's methods for preaching equality between humans and omnics, so he left to wander the world. He met Genji and helped Genji come to terms with his cyborg body. Zenyatta is currently on a pilgrimage to retrace the path of Aurora, the first omnic to gain sentience.

We don't know the exact specifics, but it's suggested that Mondatta preached non-violence, while Zen argued that force should be used when it's to protect the weak

But one monk, Zenyatta, disagreed with this new direction. He believed that the way to repair the problems between humans and omnics was not through dogmatic teaching but through interpersonal connection and engagement.
