I am not intending ANY of that. I am mad that the writers are not giving the female villain the care she deserves in writing. I want Vendetta to be a compelling, good villain. She's not. She's flat and a simple evil for overwatch to defeat. I wanted to SEE her use her strategy to defeat Doomfist to narratively SAY something. Overwatch is optumistic. Doomfist being an evil war torn "social darwinism" is a perfect evil for an optumistic future to fight. Why not make Vendetta's philosophy a comment on "oh, this is the evil doomfist invites with his philosophy"?

Overwatch isn't generic, Ramattra had a VERY compelling antagonist philosophy (he gave up hope on humanity) for an optumistic future setting.

Tell me how Vendetta earned her win??? Doomfist was written as incompetent and ooc in that fight. I don't MIND Vendetta winning!! Just let her character actually be used narratively to SAY something! She's currently extremely shallow and is winning with plot armor. I think it's sexist of the writers to claim Vendetta is "empowering" when she's a racial stereotype of Italian women being short tempered and the Italian=mafia bs.

People coming into a franchise, not understanding what media inspired the og (and therefore why fans resonate with it), using plot armor incorrectly, and posturing a white woman character's importance as op badass while screwing over a black man's character writing.

Like bro Vendetta AND Doomfist can be competent at the same time, I want to see the cinematics show off awesome fight scenes that create hype not "??? Why is this character suddenly acting like they don't know how to fight?"

Have Vendetta's evil philosophy usurp Doomfist's evil philosophy by showing that nepo baby entitlement can buy power, which shows how Doomfist's philosophy of "through conflict we evolve social darwinism" bs only invites people to play dirty and steal any semblance of growth potential from others.

But Vendetta didn't do that, she didn't even get to parry properly. She's bigger than Genji, Doomfist even grabbed and gut hit her. Vendetta needed to play dirty to win, like she could have used Vishkar shield tech she just got to tank a hit from the doomfist to catch Akande off guard, or use vishkar shield tech she just got to ground doomfist in place to secure her win.

Just. Idk. I can't find anything compelling about Vendetta's writing atm bc she’s just a simple flat evil for overwatch to defeat. She doesn't really do much with the scifi setting beyond simply having a hardlight sword, and her philosophy isn't presented as a discussion of any kind. (Ramattra and Doomfist and Moira and Sombra etc all presented philosophy discussions)

I am VERY happy to see Vendetta bring on changes to Talon, Domina lore and Emre lore will be very interesting. But as the "big bad" for overwatch, she is not as compelling of a villain to watch bc of her writing issues.

Vendetta's philosophy.) while respecting both character's competency.

Doomfist has funded Efi, saw her potential. Orisa was specifically built to counter doomfist, and beat him. Doomfist beat tracer who can tp and genji who has quiet agility prosthesis, yet Doomfist couldn't get a proper hit on a non augmented human like Vendetta running in the dark?

The fact Vendetta won wasn't the issue. It was that the scene felt ooc and plot armor once again (Vendetta surviving a bare skin gut hit) is what won Vendetta the battle, not live time response skills like Doomfist beat Tracer or Genji and not counter strategy like Efi and Orisa had to beat Doomfist.

Let Vendetta show she's competent in battle by showing her actually strategizing like other heroes have done before, without writing competent characters as ooc incompetent. It's bad writing and doesn't let Vendetta shine as a fun big bad to watch on screen.
