the whole situation with Pharah and Mercy feels one-sided to me

we've seen hints of attraction/affection from Pharah, but not really anything from Mercy

compared to the relationship between Genji and Mercy, which seems to be reciprocal

(whatever that relationship is)

Yeah the lore YouTube scene is pretty scarce but they still exist. Shroomie focuses on specific topics and speculation, not sure if Euclidean Vision still does Overwatch Lore, and Hammeh the king just does new lore reviews and summaries

also, they're one of the younger heroes so they weren't around in the last generation so that contributes to the lack of lore for them as well

heroes that were around in the golden years of overwatch have much more lore and their lore overlaps with many other heroes/characters so there's more lore for them

Cassidy is the one I relate to the most because of how he always seems to mention his sense of inadequacy and how he doesn't feel like he belongs where he is

Yet he's always been pretty loyal (and honestly it feels like he always makes the wrong kind of friends lol)

He's been so vague about his past I even wonder if Cole Cassidy isn't another fake identity

I'm writing my own headcanons about many of these but I wish to have the official story haha

The other day I thought it would be nice to have a Mexican character that's an opposite of Sombra when it comes Los Muertos. They're against Los Muertos and don't think that they rising to power to oppose LumériCo is good.

I AM very interested in the Gerard-Amelie story. I really believe that there is a missing piece to that story that we haven't been told and a lot of lore fans are sleeping on it

Obv, there was no "brainwashing" but only conditioning - that is canon

But we see that:

1. Gerard and Amelie are/were deeply in love
2. (I think the missing piece of the story goes here, disrupting the happy relationship)(Some theories: Gerard started treating Blackwatch more like his marriage and neglects Amelie. Maybe she wanted him to retire similarly to Vincent-Jack. Gerard cheated on her - or Amelie was lied to that he was cheating on her with fabricated evidence)
3. Amelie is kidnapped, conditioned by Talon, then released
4. 2 weeks later she kills Gerard in his sleep

it's also interesting that other than Widowmaker's in-game voicelines we really haven't gotten any of the story from her POV

And it does make for a cool character with fun and good voicelines and interactions

He joined right after that particular mission ended. So it's more so the fact that his name is now known that OW was able to find out about his situation more easily

I get what you’re saying, and I appreciate that Overwatch still puts out little pieces here and there like short stories and map lore but I think it’s also fair to say that the kind of lore a lot of us are hoping for hasn’t really been present since Overwatch 1.

The only PvE missions we’ve gotten were three reused ones from old Archives events, and we haven’t had any new animated shorts or major story developments in-game in years. It’s not about pretending the lore is completely gone it’s just that it feels like the deeper, more meaningful storytelling we were promised has been left behind.

So for me, this petition is about showing there are still players who care about that stuff, and who want to see it thrive again. I’m not trying to spread negativity I’m just passionate about what Overwatch could be.
