On the other, it makes me a little bummed bc it feels like they aren't committing to anything

Which can even feel like that extends to the overall story itself

Vs 10s of millions for a pixar film that was slightly longer in runtime

The former is probably more feasible to achieve if someone acc has faith in the IP to even greenlight such a project

2: when soldier was appointed head of overwatch when it probably should have been reaper
3: im pretty sure he didn’t go to moira, instead moira was like “bro can i test smth on you rq” and reaper consented

basically: there was secret division in overwatch called blackwatch
spec ops and stuff, off the books
the public doesn’t know about them and they handle the “dirty work” which overwatch cant handle infront of the media

at one mission in rialto, led by reaper, it went wrong and blackwatch was exposed

that eventually led to the downfall of overwatch
