What they have in common is that they are the first born of their family? Kiriko was 7 when Sojiro died, so I bet Hanzo wasn't really available for her after that... and then he "murdered" his brother and fled the clan.

in Yokai - she is a "teenager" and the Hashimoto were there for a decade

I like to think, because Origin stories are told in the POV of the hero that tell their own story

that Kiriko, since she was a child, had absolutely no understanding of ages of other "children"

that can make some unreliable narrators, because every one is the hero of their own story, and the stories are very biased and can trick us to think some things or others and never know "the truth"

Sigma is absolutely amazing, because it shows his fractured mind and how he tried to keep things together after his mind and body were ripped apart and you can feel his struggle

Ramattra is also very good, because you have his own perspective of how he see his people and how he sees humanity and it's very one sided with his own POV
