My games are the same whether I am rookie or legend. the matchmaker has no problem putting rookies on my team when I am legend. Legend players can be and some are gold players. regular ranked means something. stadium just just a playime indicator

Honestly I don’t think they do it took me like 10 games to hit legend and the lobbies are still awful like it’s not a rare situation where me and my friends have 0 deaths over an entire game which is a joke

I get way, way less "rookies" on my team in the higher ranks than I did before. Most of my games now are other Top 500 players. I still get wide matches, but way less of them. Matches are better

I keep seeing the community make the argument that because someone has a low comp rank they must be a bad player. When in reality, comp sucks. Its far, far less balanced than Stadium. They randomly throw new characters at comp constantly and just ignore the balance.

I trust someone's skill at Stadium way more than Comp, and I respect the rank way more. Only the top players are any good in "regular".

I love the game mode it’s just it’s incredibly easy because there isn’t enough players to make competitive lobbies anyone gm or above gets to farm plat players on repeat

Stadium mode doesn’t match players based on the visible “Stadium Rank” you see on your profile. Instead, it relies on a hidden matchmaking rating. The ranking system is more of a badge system. The ranking system allows you to hit legend with a negative win rate because stadium ranks grant more progress for wins than losses so the visible rank always just goes up.

Players in stadium are worse by a wide margin and it’s largely because they don’t play regular comp.

This is also largely because of how the mode works and because the ranking mean nothing

People tilt faster because losing doesn’t down rank you for most ranks, you don’t play good positions because you rely on items to bail you out there’s like 900 reasons why

Zen is like entirely a positional based hero and it’s like super duper obvious when one guy is like a silver gold zen and the other one is a master zen. To compound the problem they’ll take a power like flying kick which they don’t know how to use and is counter intuitive to how you’d actually position on zen to achieve great value

juno is certainly viable, with her powers allowing for diverse toolkits that allow for oppressive zoning potential, and multiple target healing
most junos ive noticed go dps juno which sometimes works well but sucks when u need the extra healing depending on the circumstance of the current match
i think even if that wasnt the case, you should pick juno because shes your main and you will perform better mechanically speaking due to experience

on a weapon focused build you can still take cross orbal and get a little ap from custom stock and phantasmic flux, squeeze out a little more damage but get a tonn of healing from the heal orb from cross orbal. more consistent survivability than the headshot power id say

its most likely a bugged interaction with death step where if u cancel death step by spamming fire and then press normal db it just cancels out instantly

As someone who doesn't play standard overwatch, can someone explain to me why people say stadium ranks don't matter?
Is the progression different than standard ranked? You still derank when you lose games

I get it, it's a different game mode & perhaps easier than standard overwatch, but there is still a level of skill required in having to counter cheese builds & getting counter picked and locked to that for possibly 7 rounds, no?

They don't matter beacuase the game doesn't use stadium ranks to determine matches it uses a hidden MMR value. Likely either the MMR tied to regular comp or if you don't play comp whatever your hidden QP MMR is.

You can be a rank 1 player in stadium with a 35% win rate you can't do that in regular modes, but your match quality isn't tied to stadium rank

Yes there's group restrictions but you can hit legend by playing a bunch of games and having a 50% win rate

There's a huge difference from legend to legend so you'd have to know there MMR or comp rank

You can have a team of legends all be gold players or you could have a team of legends that play masters+

also match making just prevents you partying it can throw you into any game

So you could have a contender tank thats a Masters + in regular comp vs a gold legend tank

and top 500 doesn't mean anything because the playerbase is small and it's just how much do you grind last seasons top 1 tank was a gold player with a 35% win rate

like right now there's silver players in the top 500 but there stadium rank is high you definably don't want those players on your team there not very good because they have no positioning skills whatsoever and they have a negative win rate, but there stadium rank is high
