I mean with Genji vs Soldier it’s less to takeover the fight in that same vein as a Soldier or Cassidy can and more so to use your strengths to keep the 2 down, using your superior mobility to keep their shots from landing and your deflect if they try anything funny. Once you got Dragon Blade ready to go then you could attempt a takeover since quite honestly Stadium made Dragon Blade pretty scary on a good Genji

Well theres 3 routes you can go with builds on Widow.

50% base minimum charge at all times. Wether you wanna make it so she can still get 100% or just make it so she cant drop or go above 50%. And quite literally call it "quick scope" meaning you have no benefit to hold your shots. It lessens her burst damage, but increases her sustained damage and moving around.
Make giant aoe poison builds with mines
Make her unscoped alot stronger.

i only play Soldier and Ashe on Stadium as DPS. i tried mini-bob, TNT with full AP, and different primary fire builds and the scoped primary fire with incendiary rounds and the power that gives you extra 40 AP damage after using coach gun has been working the best for me

Theres 3 builds you can go on Genji.

Deflect afk for Dragonblade build.
Shuriken weapon power build. His most consistent build.
Laceration just dashing through the enemy team like a pinball abiliity power. Funnest, and prob overall the most damaging, but alot more dangerous and requires a team with brain cells.

And even then imho for the dragon blade, i need to test it more but I think you are better off going for ranged dragon blades. Melee is too risky and easy to kite and dodge. And going ranged makes the deflect = free dragonblade swing also a ranged attack option while throwing shurikens. Genjis got some good build variety.

Cycle your charges. You can get 3 torpedos off in a fight very easily if you cycle your charges properly and dont spam.
0.5 second CD refresh is NOT worth a power slot.
If the fight even goes on that long.
The ability power you have is likely to just kill the targets before 3 is needed in a team fight unless its a tank. And 3 Tap Tommy is where that comes in.

You can use 1 charge to like. Engage a fight. But you usually sit on the other charge until your team needs it or theres a low enemy you are basically gurenteed to finish off with it running around.

Hence the strength of 2 charges and not just spamming them.

Stinger is nice, but Mark of the Kitsune is straight up better to take first since its a good numbered flat AP damage item, which if you take on 3 alongside Blink Boost instead of Stinger on 3, you can then take Tommygun on 4 and Stinger on 5.

Its the same build as previously but it powerspikes earlier thats all.

I say the one with Reaper makes death step not such a death sentence in the early rounds so I see no problem with it, besides the more people use it the more the devs will be aware and then they can decide if it should stay or if it should go

I can confirm though that you can’t use it to just immediately start swinging with full duration dragon blade though, the game will outright not register you pressing the ult button again until Genji starts to put the dragon blade back up

For example the power up "Incendiary Blast" adding 100 burning damage to Coach Gun, or the 30 burning damage added to repeated aimed shots with "Incendiary rounds". I don’t know if Incendiary Round’s extra damage can trigger Calamity’s damage but if you’re scoped in they will both trigger on whoever you shoot when you meet their conditions

#

Getting Incendiary Blast will also make your coach gun light whoever it hits on fire, allowing you greater use of the Infrared Lenses

#

Wait you wouldn’t even need Incendiary Blast as Calamity’s extra damage IS causing them to start burning

I still think getting it could be a good idea though since it gives Coach gun solid damage even on far away targets
