#Possible Best of Both solution for grouped/ungrouped image sets

I know that a lot of people hate the set being shown as totally separate images, and with good reason. It's already enough of a challenge to scroll through everything.

BUT the benefit of the separate images is major credit savings because you don't have to remix or retouch to separate the set.

Right now we have buttons "variations," "retouch" and "remix" under the set of images. These buttons only apply to the image that is currently on screen. So the set is together, but you can still apply an action to only one image at a time, and it can be performed to each image separately.

WHAT IF the "publish" button were with those buttons, and the publish function could be applied to a single image just like the others, while the set remains together when scrolling through creations?

Is this doable?

Well, IDK about other people, but personally, sometimes I want to publish a whole set or multiple images from a set together, and sometimes I want to publish just one. So it would be nice to have the option to do it either way, depending on what I felt like.

More options is always better. Sometimes posting in a set is neat. If I had to choose I would take single publishing though.

I like publishing in a group sometimes, when the other creations are not awesome but still something I want to make publicly available. If I post everything separated, it will fill my profile with a lot of redundancy.

The problem with publishing together is that you can't choose which image will be the face of the group (which has been requested a few times). So if image 3 is your favourite, chances are it won't be seen as much as it should because a lot of people are scrolling without opening to view the full set. (That's not an argument against being able to publish as a set, just adding to the plea for the option to publish separately)

I also like the idea of separate publishing because sometimes there's an image that somehow has nothing to do with the rest of the set, which really needs to be published with its own title, and maybe branch off into its own project with remixes and whatever else

I think the best way to keep everyone happy on this one will be to make it an option. tap a button to group your images, tap the button again if you want to ungroup your images. The almost infinite scroll I have at the moment it’s too long as it is, increasing the amount of images by a factor of four just doesn’t work for me. But some people like it. So making it an option seems the best way to go.

Not following you there. How would that differ from the current publish feature? And I certainly wouldn’t put any one feature above all the others we’ve requested here. The purpose of the forum, or the channel, is to find as many new enhancements as a reasonable, not just pick one.

It differs as described in the post. Or maybe I'm not following you 🤔

I really don’t want to go back-and-forth on this one topic forever. Hopefully I made my point. We need a way to take files from my creations and/or uncategorized and categorize them into projects. So we can find them!

Otherwise, we need a search that can look for things such as people, landscapes, food, vegetables, planets, waterfalls, etc… And that would take way too long for starry to implement.

And now that I proofread that, I think I was commenting on the wrong suggestion. In regard to displaying images individually, or as a four-in-one package, we either need to go back to the four in one package, or make it an option. On a mobile phone screen, there is nowhere near enough real estate for each and every image to be displayed individually.

Yeah, corrected that 😊

I know there's no real estate, that's exactly why I'm suggesting the button with the other buttons, so that we still have the set grouped for scrolling purposes. Scrolling becomes insane really quickly even with the images grouped, so the button that acts on one image like the other buttons seemed a "reasonable if doable" suggestion. Although I don't know if my reply is redundant now that there's been proofreading and something, lol
