Hello everyone,

Prompt Builder is a great way to discover new influences and inspiration. This post explains what Prompt Builder is, how to use it, and provides examples of all in-app style recipes in Art and Photo mode. If you have any questions or feedback, feel free to share it below.

___

What is Prompt Builder?

Prompt Builder is a feature that contains a selection of preset style recipes, descriptive keywords, art movements, artists, and other prompt modifiers. When you click on a featured recipe or keyword, it gets added to your prompt, and you can also create and save your own prompt presets. You can find the Prompt Builder button directly underneath the prompt text box.

What are Featured Recipes?

A recipe applies a specific style to your image by affixing a string of keywords to your main prompt. Similar to the Styles feature (Anime, Inkpunk, Cyberpunk, etc), images created with the same recipe will have the same look. For example, any prompt paired with the “Vintage Photography” recipe will have a vintage photorealistic style. You can use style recipes in the following ways:

  1. Use recipes as stand-alone prompts (click and create)
  2. Use recipes as style filters (simple main prompt + recipe)
  3. Combine recipes (select more than one recipe)
  4. Use recipes as base prompts and modify them by removing/replacing keywords.

How to save a prompt recipe?

Prompt Builder also allows you to save your own prompts as recipe presets. When saving a prompt, only keywords after the first comma will be saved. For example, if you save the prompt "Unicorn on the moon, fantasy art, concept art, artstation", only "fantasy art, concept art, artstation" will be saved as a recipe. This lets you change the content (unicorn on the moon) without modifying style words. To save a prompt recipe, write your prompt in the prompt box, select 'Prompt Builder', and then 'Save Preset' in the top left corner. Your saved prompt will now appear next to the Prompt Builder button. Style presets make it easier to develop new styles and reuse prompts.

What is the Random Prompt Generator?

The random prompt generator creates new prompts every time it is selected. These prompts are not saved and cannot be recovered when lost. It is recommended that you copy or generate prompts that you like since you will not be able to recall a specific prompt again. The random prompt generator is a popular feature among users and generates a variety of interesting creations. You can try it by clicking on the icon with the two intersecting arrows on the left side of the Prompt Builder button.

This is wonderful! Thank you, for putting this together. I use prompt builder all the time since that is how I learned to use Starry. But, I didn't notice that random button had been brought back and I didn't realize there were so many new recipes added! Great examples also. Thanks for doing this!
