#A sea race?

Im not good with English forgive me. And somewhat also new to the game. Been playing only for 2 months.

This has been suggested many times and i think we should have this race before the game end its development journey.

What if a sea race in the game exist that can both dwell in the sea and land. And can build empires in the sea as well.

Like otter race, seal race and mermaid race. They have immunity to wet effect. And their culture is set as sea faring pirates. And their trait is adaptable to sea/water.

Just like underground places (like for the mole people) I think a portal in the sea is possible.

Like I pick an otter race and its starting place is near coastal area and they can passively have boats without the need to research for it. And can build farms and others in the sea with no need to research for it too.

You could add a lot of potential sea theme race like anthro otters, seals, squid/octopuses.

Tl;dr: new race that can be set on sea, can build empires in seas, culture and traits set on sea theme.

Do we need to have only animal based races in this game?

Water stuff has been requested a lot and some of it could use a small tune up (namely experienced seafarers should probably give you a good chance to spawn next to water) but stuff like cities on water (instead of in the coast) are in a bit of a rough sport conceptually as if you tie it to a water culture they run into the issues most 4x water factions do (namely being very annoying to play as and against due to everyone else being landlocked), but if you make it universal water isn't really noticeable different from land.

(I do think a water based SPI would be neat at least)

To be fair we already have frogs that could be amphibious
But I'd find crab people quite funny, but I agree having a water culture would be quite difficult unless they have the possibility to transform land into sea

I like crab people, but if they tried to implement them it would inevitably|| go sideways.||
