Making it its own thread and more specific.... I came up with an idea a while ago for dual axe weapons here, #1390838516958887956 message

This option now exists in unit form with the Champion, which will be coming in the new DLC. As you can see... it has two axes.

I would like a dual axe weapon option for heroes that uses the same idea. A charge and repeating attack. That's all. The only stipulation being that you cannot use the dual axe weapon while mounted.

What I am suggesting is that the Dual Axe will be a single weapon, in the Two handed Category, effectively making it similar to other two handed weapons with a lower base charge damage value. See below #1471563656796962989 message

Cont. from discussion above in regards to weapon damage values.

The longsword in the pic below is the standard feudal longsword on character creation, and you also get a shield with it.

The Lance is likewise a starter weapon with the addition of turning your hero into cavalry.

And then we have the greatsword which has more damage than the lance but with the restriction of being non-cavalry.

For the Dual Axe weapon, the base damage value for its repeating attack I would put... at 10. For its charge attack I would place the damage value at 18.

Overall it does less damage than a dedicated one handed or two handed weapon, but it is versatile in the sense it can charge into the fray and smash retaliation and defense modes, before going right into sustained combat with repeating attacks!

I'd love dual axe as a skirmisher weapon. Where you can melee like a melee but shieldless... and you can throw your axe.

I was actually a bit surprised when we didn't get it since the Champion (unit) has it.

I mean that can be said for just about any kind of implementation or modification they do. If that would give the devs pause, then everything should, because people are... well... people. Can't please everyone so just go with the majority is what I say lol.

Personally, I think the best suggestion so far has been that dual wielded weapons are 1 weapon, but I don't entirely mind how Armory of Wonders is handling dual wielding. They basically make a special off-hand weapon designation that gives Defensive Strike as an ability option and you can still enchant it with extra abilities and effects, but it could be a bit OP...

I still prefer the idea of giving them effectively a lesser charge ability.

Including a link to the mod so you can check it out. They got sword x staff, dual pistoleros, dual crossbows, sword x orb, etc. Its pretty neat stuff. Devs could easily do something with that premise as well I imagine.

Dual Axes will prob just be 1 weapon slot that takes up shield slot and will prob not be two separate weapons

Despite me thinking armory of wonders is kind of neat I do think just paired weapons in 1 slots would be easier for the base game.
