Really love this concept, makes good sense since sometimes it takes a while before you can recruit starting tome units. And oftentimes there are better options later on.

If you have time, it might be good to list which units are granted by each tome on the mod description. I see some tomes have 2 units so not sure which one we'd get.

Also, how did you implement this? I can take a look myself but not at my PC.

It's random between the two, e.g. Pyromancy will grant either a smol fire spirit or a pyromancer. Yeah, I should prolly add that, will do that later tomorrow

Awesome, thank you! Yes a script makes sense. I know there are other ways to tweak the starting army but scripts are probably the only viable solution.

Well, I'm the resident script guy. When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail 😅. But yeah, I'm also pretty sure this was the simplest solution. Tweaking the starting army would probably take a lot more effort

Reminds me of how Planetfall started you out with one secret tech unit too.

Nah, the choice is usually between a T2 and an evolving T1

Both have their use cases, so I'd rather keep it as a random factor, "make do with what you got"

Looks like the mod will need an update when you get a chance. The Tome of Faith lets you start with a tier 3 Chaplain, which has been moved to a tier 2 tome. Should probably grant a Lesser Light Spirit now.
