I made a similar suggestion quite a while ago and I personally would like the selector back that we had in AoW3: just give us numbers that we can remember when trying to choose/note down between 2-3 outfits

A selection box with preview images would be a big improvement. It might cause issues with mods, unless the previews can be generated automatically, but I think even a generic placeholder image (say, a box with the text "No Preview") would be better than having to click through a dense slider to find what you want.

Not to be a negative Nancy but if it's going to be replaced with something it better be a VAST improvement over what's already there, so that it's worth the work it requires... and the mods it will break, which is a very big deal.

i do agree with this. i wouldnt name it as priority no 1, or even in my top 10. but i would enjoy the process of creating a ruler and faction quite a bit more if it were more convenient to find the appearance/outfit you want
