Welcome to Tome, Tweaks and Traits! This is a small submod that aims to act as a compliment to the vanilla game and fill in some of the holes left in the vanilla game.

Principally it is made up of three components:
1. Tomes:
Currently this mod adds an updated version of the Tome of Tides as a Tier 1 Nature Tome, acting as a precursor to the Tome of the Stormborne and allowing you to cast water magic and summon lesser tide spirits.
In the future this mod will also replace the Tome of Chaos Channeling with a powerful higher tier fire themed tome, the Tome of the Inferno
**2. Tweaks: **
This mod does not just add stuff however! It also intergrates new and DLC content into the base game. Nimue now starts with the Tome of Tides to drown her foes, and Arachna now leads a sect of primal goblins devoted to the Tunneling Spider! Yaka's Tigrans also ride sabertooth mounts like their Age of Wonders II & III forerunners.
Valery has also been added as a playable Ascended Champion, complete with her own race, the Commonwealth Revanchists (although like Edward and Laryssa she cannot be used in either the Rise of the Godir or the Empire and Ashes story realms).
This mod also tweaks the art of the game, and adds 35 new loading screens drawn from Age of Wonders III's loading screens and campaign art (and the Age of Wonders IV Sundren wallpaper). The Tome of the Demon Gate also features new art...
Additionally, like the spells and units in the Tome of Tides, Tide Spirits now deal a mixture of physical and frost damage.
3: Traits
With the addition of Mount Master, this mod now detaches Optional Cavalry from the Exotic Mount Traits. No longer will picking unicorn mounts for your Wood Elves also force you to be Elvish Huns! The price of all Exotic Mount traits have been reduced by 2 points, so the preexisting behaviour can be recreated by combining Mount Masters and your Exotic Mount Trait.

Future Plans:
Future plans will include an ascension perk for the Tome of Tides, overhauled art for the Tome of Tides, and hopefully voice acting. The Tome of Chaos Channeling will be overhauled to become the Tome of the Inferno (with some skills moved to the Tome of the Demon Gate).
I also hope to add a rainforest realm trait, and a Abhor Mounts trait that will remove mounts from a race, allowing you to roleplay your LotR Dwarf/Aztec fanfics. Similar to how Serana uses a pantheon item (stags), I would also like to update certain vanilla Godir with pantheon items (such as giving Artica the cryomancy crown, and Melanis the Death Orb).
Far future plans include experimental tweaks to the Tier V tomes...
FAQ:
Why is the Tome of Tides a pure nature tome?
In vanilla Age of Wonders IV, pretty much every water bonuses effect is associated with the Nature Affinity. Thus, the Tome of Tides has been changed, and slightly re-themed to be focused on harnessing the magical and natural powers of the tides themselves.
**Why did you add Valery and not Mab, Sanhild or one of the Age of Wonders II Shadow Magic Wizard Kings? **
This mod aims to be Vanilla+, and Valery felt like an odd expection as a prominent returning character who existed ingame, and yet was never unlocked as playable unlike other very similar characters (i.e. Edward and Laryssa). Characters like Mab and Sanhild's status are unknown.
