With the upcoming expansion in Q4 you talked about more faction identity being added. Since I play AoW3 and AoW4 daily, I do notice the different touch of every game and one part is faction identity. I do make decisions in AoW4 with "what feels right now" rather than the "what is best now" but it still feels less immersive as in AoW3. One of those mechanics offering more immersion is the race governance of AoW3. When you play enough with one race, you get a choice to develop the race in a more military or economical way. If you have more than one race in your empire, you get the choice for each.
In AoW4 this could work just as well, depending on faction traits, social traits and the racial traits you choose in the faction creation menus. Such a decision now and then "reminds" you what you really play and might give you some more immersion into or of your own faction, adding to the general feeling while playing your faction.
I do miss the race governance and would be happy if something like this would be added.
#Please add something like race governance from AoW3 to your todo list

Yeah, right now it's pretty much just times when racial transformations are especially relevant that I am reminded of which race is which
I dunno, I only saw it come up once during the campaign and that was during the tutorial mission. I don’t even know how to open it or activate it.
didnt play aow3 but i like this idea
You don't activate it. The more you play with any race the more "race governance points" you generate for that race. At a given amount you are able to choose a military or economic option. There are even sites (some sort of grey tent) which add to your main race point count to get the next update faster.
Yea actually, I was just confused by it not actually working for the first two campaigns.
