Disallow external emojis

I personally think theres a difference between offensive pepe memes and the emojis.

All official PDX Discords have the same rules when it comes to the Frog and external Emojis.

We'll review it, but it is correct that this limitation is normal across the Official Paradox Discords to which we need to be consistent.

I agree with the suggestion, just not for this reason. One of the servers I'm on has emoji with names "boobs" 1 through 5, "boobsplay" 1 through 5, and a few more along those lines.

You can't expect everyone to be responsible with access to those.

If it was done maliciously, we’ll that is what both bots and mods are for. Simply deactivating a feature because it requires effort to moderate isn’t the best solution imo. Even if that is how other servers work. Certain inherited rules are great to follow, others should be broken.

Yeah, dunno either. Given that the rules are basically Copy/Paste from other Paradox servers I can guess about Deus Vult, but even then I'd think it's more related to meme spam than offensiveness.

How can you ban external emojis when anyone can get Nitro and use them?

if you have nitro, you can use them in DM's or servers which haven't banned external emojis.
if a server bans external emojis, you can't use them.
(a setting, not a rule)

YetiBandito is concerned that frog fanaticism (Which, at worst, is simply frogs completely taken out of context as noted by their original introduction) will cause people actual pain and trauma just by seeing them. Control over the frogs must be asserted so that everyone is safe. Frogs are literal digital sticks and stones that will be used to physically harm people while they are sitting behind their keyboards.

I personally will not be allowing frog form to gain power in my fantasy world and to be clear, I am not a frog appropriation fan either. But on that front, while we seek to appease frog fueled Orwellian tendencies, that now exist on the opposite ends of a tired spectrum, I am quite concerned about YetiBanditos as well. Here we have appropriation on two fronts simultaneously. That is double the potential harm and risk to everyone's health and well being.

To make sure that all sensitivities, no matter how asinine the control measures might become, are accounted for and rectified... I demand that YetiBandito and all namesakes are banned here as well.

This thread made me realize we have an entire race of Pepes in AOW 4. Thanks OP for bringing this up, the memes are going to be awesome. Can't wait to be playing my first game with some chaos-aligned frog people, swarming from their capital Kekistan to submit the world to their will.

the frog was comandeered by certain online groups, the artist never meant it for them, I see it used a lot now by just normal people its fine. Let it just become a popular emoji, reclaim it from those who would turn it into a hate symbol.
