#Island contest voting doesn't make sense

It doesn't because voting numbers compared to steam statistic implies that voters don't test the maps. People generaly will vote for creations of trusted and known mappers / community members or the maps that they dared to play or also they will vote the thumbnail/images. They don't care, don't have time and are too lazy to really playtest maps and that's understandable.

Just look at the numbers:

Maps were not given a chance to be played nor looked into. Even the most subscribed one has 18 subscriptions leaving 32 voters that didn't try the map at time writing. That's saying in the ideal, almost improbable scenario that everybody who's subscribing it also voted for it. Also I don't believe that everybody unsubscribe the map right away after playing it. Basically this part is ignored:

As my feedback I want to generally say that 'community-voted' contests are far less impartial. In my opinion if a vote necessarly should be 'community-voted' then it should contain at best 2 and max 3 maps. Realistically speaking, really nobody wants to waste their time on checking 10 maps, especially when some of them are huge. 10 is way too big number. 90% won't vote basing on map's quality but other factors I mentioned earlier.

Yes my map is one of conteders so you might find it salty if you want (not intended tho), but does it also mean I don't say a bit of truth?

If I recall correctly you do not need to subscribe to an island to play it in the Island Creator. (Unfortunately I can't open it right now to double check).
There is a section of recent uploads, there might be a search as well. I went through many of the islands without subbing to them.
