I mean... I wasn't expecting it to. I play TONS of survival adventure games. But at the same token... "Press on and seek out other ruins... etc etc" without giving us ANY inclination of HOW to unlock the doors for the ruins is kinda frustating. I HATE having to sit here and watch tutorials or whatever on youtube in order to learn a game. That totally defeats the purpose for me....

Find things you can scan with your PRISM and it will show up in your compendium (in the TAB menu along the top bar) there is also info on puzzles and mechanics there.
you can equip your PRISM and hold right click to scan objects

I didn't realize I was supposed to right click it to equip it....
When l.ooking at it in my inventory... it said "recipe" in the same window...
So I thought that it was JUST the recipe for it... that's what was so damn confusing for me. >.>

And it keeps saying to use mouse button 4 on the left side of my mouse for the grappling hook... but I have 6 buttons by my thumb on my mouse and NONE of them are being bound to the grappling hook for whatever reason. For the love... why does this have to be so complicated??
