When you're searching for a specific type of mineral it can be really annoying needing to mine one chunk off of ever ore node you find to figure out if it's what you want. Some type of visual indicator would be very useful, like changing the color of the ore chunks on a node to a specific color that tells you what it is, or even just the ability to use the Prism to scan an ore node to tell what type of mineral it is.

Na make it easier then that imo.
Once you scan an ore node for a specific ore any time you run across it with in say x meters what it is just pops up over the node.
Scanning it with the prism every time just trades the time you spent breaking the node to time spent scanning every node.
I would simply perfer each ore has its own unique looking rock formation personally.

It would need to be like within 0 meters of it because I don't want to have my screen cluttered with a bunch of text when there are a bunch of mining nodes nearby.
