I've gotten that too, I have no idea why it started or stopped but it lasted like 5-10 minutes

This bug has happened to me often
A partially working fix- if you can find a point immediately below your character to grapple to, fire the grappler and just sit there and occasionally your character might right itself.
Quitting and Saving might save your bugged state, as it had for me, so if the grappler didn't work I often would just ALT+F4 to quit without saving since that's not an option.
I noticed this happened to me almost every time I'd release helm control after using pitch or roll. One time I released the helm with the ship in that state, and i went into ragdoll mode. I was able to reach the helm and readjust the controls so the ship's attitude was back to zero, and i heard my character's feet hit the floor and i was fine after that. That only worked once though lol.
