#Jittering/shaking issue.

i have been having this issue on and off as well
except the jittering comes from the headset itself, while the other Lighthouse tracked stuff is stable
wait, what do you mean on and off? like this game and other games as well?
sometimes its jittery, other times its stable
havent really found a cause
it seems to also happen in the Headset's hub menu, so its not just a SteamVR issue
i tried cleaning all the cameras with a microfiber cloth, but that didnt change anything
maybe it's the controllers itself man. they could be the problem
i also thought maybe changing the modes of the base stations but still has the same result.
i dont know. do the base stations appear jittery when you look at them while no games are running? they usually appear when booting up games, or if you disable SteamVR home
i guess it depends if those controllers are old as well, since that model is quite past its time now
the base stations are not jittery. i was saying that the controller's tracking is too sensitive. which means if i move the controllers just once, it registers as a lot of movement.
maybe if i got 2 more base stations, the tracking would be stable?
Vive controllers stack based on what the Base Stations can see. they sure infrared light sensor to tell where they are, so sensitivity shouldnt work that way
i know its the first thing everyone asks with this, but do you have anything reflective in your room? like a smooth monitor, a window, mirror or such?
getting more base stations wont affect tracking quality, its purely for more room coverage
you never really need more than 2, unless you are playing in an actual warehouse, or use multiple VR setups in the same room
actually, are the base stations old? i recently had to replace mine cause the lidar in them was getting loose and messing up my tracking quality
no, not really. there are no mirror nor windows.
i have the 1.0 base stations. i can't really tell if it's old or not
wait, what about 2.0 base stations?
well, the model design is old, but do you know how long it was since those you have were made? mine lasted about 7-8 years before giving out
the original Vive controllers arent compatible with 2.0 Stations. you would need Index controllers or something newer for that to work <.<
oh well, maybe turning off steam vr home would fix this problem?
i dont think so
that was mostly just to check if the base stations were jittery like the controllers
it might improve performance a teeny bit, but i dont imagine it would fix tracking issues
you're right. ok so maybe my only solution is to get valve index controllers or something newer?
if you bought used controllers or base stations, they may be older than assumed, and this could just be their age catching up
i know when my old base station broke down, it escalated pretty fast. first day was some minor jittering here and there, 3 days later it was near unusable and it made a loud buzzing sound
but i dont exactly know what the cause is, so its a little bit of a guessing game unless you know your setup well
I do hear a buzzing sound when I get too close to the base stations.
is it abnormally loud? they have a little motor so its gonna buzz a teeny bit, but if it gets louder, something is wrong
mine got to the point where i heard it through my headphones
no, not really. thank you very much for trying to find a solution to this problem. I think that maybe the game has a problem with the vive controllers, simply because the creator himself might have never updated the controllers for his game.
when i find a solution i will make sure to let you know.
it could be a load of things, i would have to do a bunch of testing to figure it out myself, but hopefully you can find a way around it
Hey Crispy, is there a way to increace or decrease the sensitivity of the vive wand triggers?
