im not sure if this is a problem with hardware, software of just the shape of my head, but when i tried the Focus Vision last night, i noticed the right speaker was much louder than the left one, and i couldn't find a way to edit the L/R balance in the sound settings. anyone know if there's a way to fix this? i tried adjusting the headset position in a lot of ways but that didn't work

i also dont know if the DP streaming feature has anything to do with it

Hi @lilac sonnet, if you don’t mind, could you share a bit more information so we can look into this further?

  1. Does the audio issue occur only during DP streaming, or do you notice it in other scenarios as well?
  2. When did this issue start? Was it after a specific action, like updating to a new version or starting a particular session?
  3. Could you please check which version of Focus Vision you’re currently using? Also, what is the VIVE Hub version if this happens during DP streaming?

Thank you!

the audio issue seems to happen regardless if im running the streaming app or not, pretty sure i remember it being an issue even when i removed the cable

i dont know when exactly it started, but i began noticing it last night when clicking sounds for all apps were focused on the right ear regardless of where i was facing

and i was running the latest version of everything i could update. i dont remember the last version's number, but i updated it to 2.2.4a beta earlier today

Noted! Do you recall when you updated the software to version 7.0.999.192 (the latest)? Was it before last night when you first noticed the sound issue?

If you’re experiencing this issue now, could you also report it through VIVE Hub if possible? This will help us capture the logs for further investigation.

To report via VIVE Hub: go to Settings > About > Report Issue. A trace number will be generated once the issue is submitted; please provide this number so we can identify your ticket immediately.

Thank you so much for sharing this information with us!

starting to think there's some tomfoolery going on at startup which may or may not offset audio balance

Hi @lilac sonnet , you mentioned a few days ago that the audio was left-ear focused but mostly balanced after a restart. I hope it’s been working better since then. Has the issue occurred again recently?

We’ve been unable to reproduce the problem on our side, so any additional information from you would be very helpful. If you’ve already reported the issue, could you please share the **trace number **or the email used with me? This will help us locate your ticket and investigate further. If you haven’t reported it yet and the issue has reoccurred, could you kindly report it and provide the details?

Thank you so much for your support!

i just wish there was an easy way to balance left/right audio without needing to run a CPU heavy equalizer in the background

btw its an issue thats pretty much always happening now, so im starting to wonder if its just one of the speakers are just quieter like that

I'll give it a try when i have time later

but i have a suspicion its just my head shape or ears not being entirely symmetrical, cause i remember i've always had a thing where VR headsets always sat just a tiny bit lobsided cause that was the most comfortable spot, but im not entirely sure

Got it! Thanks for trying. Just a quick check—have you used the headset to report the issue yet? That way, we can look into the logs.
