I bought an HTC Vive around 2017-2018, it worked fine until about 2 years ago when it started having issues connecting. Then it would take about an hour of unplugging, plugging in, recalibrating etc. until it would connect finally. It finally stopped connecting about a year and a half ago. I have searched through hundreds of reddit posts, videos, etc. looking for a solution and nothing has worked. Because it's so old I really don't want to have to pay 200$ to have it repaired or evaluated just to get another year or two off an old headset. I'd rather go spend that 200$ on a newer model or a quest. I haven't given up on the thing yet, but it's a near thing.
#HTC Vive having graphics issues? Won't register.

Is it the OG headset or the vive pro? what were the signs of it not working? just the headset being powered off and eventually it working or was there arficating of any sort or issues connecting to base stations or something else?
The OG I think, it would have lots of problems connecting, usually taking lots of tiny adjustments to get it to work. It wouldn't artifact as far as I know, but I wasn't the primary user until now. It connected to the base stations fine.
The controllers would occassionally disconnect and drift away, but they'd come back after a few seconds and it wouldn't happen for a while after that.
Did you check on multiple computers and was always happening? kind of sounds like a link box issue or a cable being on the edge of breaking, for the OG you can find them pretty cheap but won't 100% fix the issue
if it is the OG and not the pro I would suggest parting out the base stations and controllers separately and saying that the headset needs fixing and getting a quest 2/3s
Multiple computers and we tried different cables! I dont know where to find a linkbox nearby
currently i just want to try and troubleshoot it, try everything before giving up.
