I left my vive xr elite on charge overnight after letting it drain flat. Now today it won't turn on, only getting red flashing light on the front. Tried all sorts of things like disconnecting the battery and letting the front battery drain, tried all sorts of combos of power + volume etc etc. To be clear it worked before plugging it into the charger, no software changes, nothing installed etc etc. Hope there's a fix!

Had you tried bypassing the battery and plugging the headset directly into the charger?

what sort of charger/brick are you connecting the cable up to? Wondering if the wattage may be to low possibly

MacBook charger. Definitely high enough

#

And MacBook charger is behind a surge protector

#

So I've had this unit for about 3 weeks and had no issue until now

#

It has had pretty light actual usage due to the software readyness etc

Yeah the charger would have definitely put out enough to keep it charged.
We may need to wait for the email team to pick up the case and see what options are available.
Or try leaving it overnight without the battery and not plugged it in to fully drop all charge in the device and seeing if it changes the situation.
Even if it was stuck in download or bootloader you would normally at least get a display. So I'm not sure the volume + power combos could fix what it's doing at the moment.
If I think of anything else to try I'll drop it here.

Thanks anyway can you confirm to be which combo is the actual bootloader keypress? And would you be comfortable with me putting that info in my Reddit how to/technical support threads on vive/htcvivexr or would you prefer the bootloader combos stay private?

While the device is booting, you should be holding the volume down key to get into you into the bootloader menu. Bootloader combo keys aren't something that we would necessarily consider private, so that should be fine.

Thanks for your help! Hopefully my support email doesn't get buried.
