I always love the difference between modded and vanilla, in vanilla you have no want nor the tools to terraform the entire dungeon
in modded, it's not only a good idea, but it's doable in less than an hour

mainly cause I think vanilla is so limited in what you can do which sounds weird when talking about terraria
but it's like, say I wanna play mage but only use spell books, be a nerd of sorts
vanilla, congrats the only good one early on is demon scythe and that's in hell so I ain't getting shit for a while
calamity alone lets me just run to the snow biome and make a super solid spellbook provided I get my hands on a bookcase which is super easy as well

okay so I think it should be a good pre-hardmode yoyo. easy to craft and would have two clicks. left click is your normal yoyo but it would do a sort of "combo" where it hits twice in quick succession then does a harder hitting attack and an even harder hitting attack, those two harder hitting moves would do bonus damage if done at max range. the right click sends out a yoyo that serves as a trap that will trigger after a short time and return back to the player
easy to make cause bridget is super easy to pick up and play, so getting her item early on fits
and the combo is actually just her gattling. it's c.S > S > HS
and her right click is just her her special move

fun fact, did you know up until they added those broken nether portals, there was literally zero indication in the entire game that 1. the nether even existed and 2. how to get there and you STILL need to know the knowledge that you gotta light the complete structure
so an entire dimension, one that is not just vital but literally required to beat the game, is mentioned no where in the entire game and wasn't to even the slightest degree for a decade

honestly not sure! i haven't looked into them much at all, i might do the same though and wait for a couple of the big modpacks to get updated after 1.4.5 and then dive back in
