it’s generally alright for edge guarding but it’s only really a confirm for when you’re already in a big advantage

it’s a safe way to guarantee kills when you’re up by a bunch

if the two of you are relatively even in an edge guard situation it’s generally a bad idea to throw your weapon

not having a weapon is a pretty huge disadvantage

I'm making a TLDW btw for those that don't wanna watch 1 hour of dev talk

• button changes to make things simpler, easier to remember, cleaner to input, and be more accessible to certain peripherals being used
• made game mechanics more consistent like happy birthdays not randomly dropping anymore, parries being sometimes detrimental, a double tapping forward to dash or kara cancels feeling clunky
• pulse (autocombos) are officially a universal thing and not an equippable, you can also not use auto combos while your duo does
• new fuses (the buffs to your character like dealing more damage when low health) called sidekick, basically your character isn't actually a character they purely are for assists or team ups or whatever the fuck. baby mode for your duo. another called juggernaut, you only play one character but your single character is stronger (you are able to hot swap between your two characters during the round start of a round)
• combo enders now actually matter beyond damage. some give a HKD, some give more meter, and some just do the most damage
• meter is now not directly related to damage, so now some combos are more meant to build meter super fast and others are meant to do the most damage
• adjusting the speed of a bunch of stuff, making the near instant stuff more seeable and the slower stuff more snappy
• gave more defensive options like making a combo out of a blocked break (break is basically a fuck you button but is it's own meter) much easier and now pushblocking is more available more often (used to be meter based now it's assist based, so that makes your duo in charge of this)
• fury is no longer a fuse, instead it's a state you get when one of your character dies. when they die your break meter becomes "fury break" and you get 25% DR and deal 25% more damage until your meter runs out. this is like heat state in tekken but better by a lot, and you can earn it back it seems. you can also dash cancel any special or normal while in fury provided the frame data is good enough on hit or on block
• air teching is now more universally usable (air teching is when you tech a launcher making you recover from it's effects much quicker) and now you can opt out of it to avoid getting predicted for an air tech
• weak otg's are now more evenly rewarded rather than hard rewarding the attacker no matter how weak or hard the knockdown was
• reducing combo lengths and also sped them up so you don't gotta be in a combo for 43 years anymore
• made the passive health regen of your still alive teammate faster to "encourage you to go in instead of running away"
• dead assists are now a thing, meaning if your duo or your other character died can still be used to assist
• super assists now carry over between rounds making you have to think wither to use it or to save it
• now you can effect the angle of super jumps to go further or not as far to make super jumps not as predictable
• increased the 'visual pill' (basically how physically close two characters can get) so they are spread apart and are easy to look at
• ui changes like where the assist cd is
• slowed down wallbounces so following up is easier and more consistent
• you can't wall bounce a handshake tag cause it was cringe ig
• easier visual indicator for "bad blocking" (blowing low and getting hit by an overhead or stand blocking and getting hit with a low) by making yellow shards appear
• "out play moments" are more visible like a successful parry being more flashy and having a slow down effect for example

that's for the overall game stuff

and the rest is just Jinx gameplay breakdowns and showcasing

10 characters for a modern fighting game is already small, but when it's a tag fighter that is absolutely tiny

and while I get ya know they really wanna make their 2025 release so we can get the game. I have ALWAYS been an advocate for games being released in the best state possible. which would include a nice roster so everyone can have someone they are interested in
