Context:||This poem is written in Ardhasmriti.

Ardhasmriti is a poetic form conceived by me — a seven-line symmetry where meaning turns upon itself. The same words breathe differently when read forward and backward, revealing two emotional truths divided by a single still point.||

(Translation: Maa means mother) and this is my contribution for the mother's day. Happy mother's to each and every living organism who has played the role of a mother. May it be a single father or the pet dog who stood with your lil hooman.

The Woman Behind ‘Maa’

[ Maa: 1→7 ]
I. The one who gives her own life — to give birth to one.
II. The goddess who goes through the bone-crushing pain
III. To be forgotten by her son.

IV. Maa-
V. The epitome of sacrifices often called vain.
VI. She stays beside her own part, caring, considerate and fun.
VII. The process of being a mother is never done,
Yet for most, the game of a sacrifice goes on — insane.

[ Woman: 7→1 ]

Image description: This is The Lunatic of Étretat (also known as La Folle), painted in 1871 by the French artist Hugues Merle. The most haunting element of this painting is what the woman is holding. It is not a living infant, but a log of wood wrapped in a red bonnet and sackcloth.
