We have seldom met, you know
This and greet me openly yet;
From landlocked shores I come to you
Gracefully, you accept me.
The lash of your salt whip does not
Dissuade me from my admiration,
Eternal, changing mass of life;
Millions find shelter in your water.

Millions upon millions, including me
But a tiny drop in something grander,
I take those who have lived in you
For me to do the same.
Mementos of an age long past,
Their spirits are safe with you.

I thank you always for your service
For the way you kiss my skin;
Pacifica, my heart is yours,
Forever and ever, amen.

This reminds me of another poet's youthmost days, and he became something great.

I don't mean this insultingly, because the poem is truly nice, but I see potential

This had a very subtle reach for meter which made the reading flow finely

And the lines made me internally think "wow"

A great message and a fair poem, good job

I’m glad you like it <3 I wrote this on a whim

Also, I apologize to slightly promote myself in here, though would you mind reading a poem of mine?

If it’s the one you just posted, I already read it! I appreciate your work

Thanks for the follow! Do be aware I can be critical of religion and often use poetry to work things out

Until it is genuine hate to the Lord

Oh no, I do believe in a higher power and would not disrespect it

#

I believe in a God but I just don’t agree with a lot of the traditional dogma

plain linden

Yeah, 100%, just can’t believe in a higher power that is against my very existence

#

Very nice pfp, I actually was interested in Orthodoxy for a while

As in, you are trans?

untold olive
plain linden
#

Nah you're damned

#

Jk

#

If that is what you worry of, do note that though it is a sin, you are not damned if you accept Christ into your heart.

#

Realize, you considered the trans, but not that you are a liar, or lustful, or another sin. We commit so much sin, and Christ did die for them (and arose), so you can still be a Christian with struggle. Just, be willing to work on the sins

God is also omnibenevolent

#

So though we sin, he loves us so much

If you put it that way, then very well. I’ll think about it.

But you are right, nobody is perfect

Nice talking with you, new friend 😁

Is this why you were talking about how you should fear the ocean as much as you fear God in the other server? Also I love! I kinda feel about the ocean how I think pacific islanders saw it? (idk like Moana type beat) where the ocean is full of spirits and creatures that reflect things that happen in life as well as your own approach to things. Also the kinda thing where everyone moves on into some sort of spirit or something. Idk I just really like that idea. But I liked this a lot :D (idk how to express that so uhhh yeah!)

You’re welcome! I’m on vacation rn and every time I see the ocean I’m reminded of how much I love it

#

And every time I take a shell, I always make sure to thank where it came from
