Empty swing set, rusty chains,
Sun sets slow, a wash of pains.
Just friends, we laughed, we used to be,
A simple world, for you and me.
Confessed my heart, a foolish thing,
Hoping maybe, bells would ring.
But silence came, a screen's cold light,
And ended friendship, in the night.
"We shouldn't be friends," the words I wrote,
A tangled feeling in my throat.
Because I liked you, more than shown,
Now I sit here, utterly alone.
No angry words, no bitter fight,
Just fading stars, into the night.
(this is my first poem)
