Empty swing set, rusty chains,
Sun sets slow, a wash of pains.
Just friends, we laughed, we used to be,
A simple world, for you and me.

Confessed my heart, a foolish thing,
Hoping maybe, bells would ring.
But silence came, a screen's cold light,
And ended friendship, in the night.

"We shouldn't be friends," the words I wrote,
A tangled feeling in my throat.
Because I liked you, more than shown,
Now I sit here, utterly alone.

No angry words, no bitter fight,
Just fading stars, into the night.

(this is my first poem)

It feels like someone who didnt lose love but lost the place where love used to quietly exist

The confession isnt dramatic its almost… hesitant like they already knew the answer would be silence. And that silence hurts more than rejection because it erases something that once felt simple and safe
What stands out is the choice to walk away
Not because of anger but because staying would mean watching something gentle decay into something unbearable.
Its not heartbreak in the loud sense
its the quiet grief of ruining something pure just by feeling more than you were supposed to.
